Introduction

The purpose of this website is to describe the work of the CERVICAL SCREENING QUALITY ASSURANCE REFERENCE CENTRE , to ensure that anyone who may need it knows what is done there and what it can offer.

It is important to increase awareness, so that organisations and individuals throughout the cervical screening programme in the North West can feel confident that they will always receive appropriate support and advice when it is required. This helps to ensure consistent safe practice and gives an opportunity to draw on its various areas of expertise. The QARC coordinates each aspect of the programme throughout the region. It is a constant resource, a team of individuals central to the process of cervical screening. It enables national quality assurance guidance to be interpreted, disseminated and monitored, and through local consultation, offers a uniform regional approach .
